Rocky Mountain Values (RMV) attended a Faith Leaders in Action meeting in Pueblo, Colorado, to discuss the urgent need for fair tax policies that benefit working families. Sol Sandoval, a prominent advocate for economic fairness, joined the meeting to speak about the negative impact of the 2017 GOP Tax Law on hardworking Coloradans.
During the discussion, Sandoval highlighted how the GOP Tax Law primarily benefited corporations and the wealthy, leaving Colorado’s working families with minimal gains. She explained that in 2020 the wealthiest 1% of Coloradans received an average tax cut of $57,210 per household, while middle-income families saw only modest reductions. Sandoval urged faith leaders to join RMV in pushing for tax policies that ensure everyone pays their fair share, rather than favoring the rich.
"Coloradans deserve a tax system that works for them, not one that makes the rich richer and underfunds the services our communities rely on,” Sandoval said. “We must advocate for a fairer tax policy that benefits our families and strengthens our communities."
RMV continues to work with community leaders across the state to build support for equitable tax reform that prioritizes Colorado’s working families over corporate interests.
